Tomato 'Black Russian' Heirloom Seeds

This is the tomato that helped launch Little Veggie Patch Co and it’s easy to see why. ‘Black Russian’ is a classic heirloom variety that produces deep, dark-skinned tomatoes (almost purple) with beautifully sweet flesh and top-notch eating quality. 

It likes a sunny, well-drained spot and it’s a great one to pair with basil and marigolds nearby.

Soil prep tip: tomatoes are nitrogen-hungry, so prep your patch with a nitrogen boost, either dig in nitrogen-rich pea/broad bean plants as green manure or mix through compost + chook manure about a fortnight before planting.
