If you want a pea that’s basically built for garden snacking, Snow Pea ‘Sweet Mammoth’ is it. You’ll get very large, sweet pods that grow to around 10cm long. Crisp, crunchy and annoyingly hard to “save for dinner”.
It grows to about 1.5m tall, so it’ll need a trellis (think of it as giving it somewhere to climb instead of letting it flop around dramatically). It has powdery mildew resistance, so it’s a great variety for both autumn and spring planting.
